I'm new to this forum and have been perusing for a couple of days checking out all of your opinions and discussions.
Anyway, I am going to be purchasing a new machine in the next couple of weeks, currently own a B6200, way too small for my requirements, but has saved my back on numerous occasions.
Initial tasks I will be using the machine for will be snow plowing, lanscape raking, general landscaping, rock wall building and minor land clearing.
I checked out the NHs and can't seem to get away from the Kubotas. The tranny choices are great and I like my current dealer.
I was all set to buy the 3010 glide shift, FEL, 7' hydraulic angle snow blade. My dealer happened to be out of the 3010 Glides, but just got the new 3130 in this week. He is trying to turn me on to it, but I haven't seen any info out there to make me comfortable with the purchase.
I like the idea of a quick disconnect for the FEL for the snow blade and possible future forks. My dealer is trying to tell me that the 3010 will require an aftermarket unit, whereas the 3130 is being equipped (by the dealer) with the Kubota quick disconnect FEL, making the 3010 the same $ as the 3130 (somewhere around $22.5k).
Any thoughts, is my dealer trying to take advatage of me? Is the price way out of wack? I am in Maine, everything is expensive. I have called (3) different dealers and they are all within $500 of each other.

The Glide shift has been improved on in the new models. They now have 12 speeds and even quicker shifting. The way the programs are they will both come in about the same price. ....

I'm from Maine too! I've probably been to the same dealers you have. If you check out the classifieds on this forum, you'll see Emerich Tractor in NY (just over the Mass line) will sell a 3130HST for about $13,300. The HD FEL adds about $3700. Wallingford in Auburn says he'll match any legitimate quote. You can use that information to go to the dealer you feel most comfortable with and see how close he'll come. After that, the decision is up to you - how much do you value dealing with the local dealer?
As for the difference in tractors, I think it's a no brainer. The 3010 is last years model and the 3130 is the latest. The loader alone is the selling feature! Last year you had to get a 3710 to get the loader capability of the new 3130. Not sure about the QD I think it's still an option, as is the mid PTO (standard ont he 3010). The 3130 is just hitting dealers now. I haven't seen one yet, but everything I hear is very positive. Only downside I can think of is the electronic instrument panel. If if goes out after warranty I'm sure it's a few bucks to replace. It does however have the potential to save you big money if it warns you about a problem before it gets serious.

Just took delivery of a 3130 HST, FEL, 7' Curtis Quick Detach Snowplow, 9'BH, Block Heater. Yee Hah! The loader is a little heavy, making the tractor light in the rear end, but won't it move some snow. One problem that I am having is the quick couplers on the FEL hydraulic lines are not so quick. They come off nice, but do not re-attach well. Any thoughts.
Also, because the FEL is so heavy, it tends to spin when pushing heavy snow. Should I load the tires or use chains?

Quick and easy turn off the tractor and move the tractor hydraulic lever to neutralize the pressure before disconnecting. Do the same to reconnect. ....

Hey kballs, glad Wallingford worked out for you. Sounds like you have a v e r y nice rig. I'd appreciate you emailing me privately and let me know how he treated you.
I'm going to be doing some work on lawns so i'm not a big fan of loading tires. I would rather use chains and a weight box in the back. I assume you have the BH off and are in 4WD with the diff locked.
Art filled you in on the hydraulics.

There is a big difference between a 3010 and a 3130 and if they are the same price, get a L3130.(If it is reasonably priced to begin with of course.) Larger axles, better 3-pt, more gears in the GST, more lift capacity with the heavier loader. These new 3130's have been around for a few years in Japan so the bugs have been worked out. They both with have a Quick Attach/Detach Loader, but I think you mean a QA for the bucket. Whether it is directly from kubota or an aftermarket, I don't see much difference here. A skid steer style quick attach isn't a very complicated device.
I always crinch when I hear someone putting a snowblade on loader frame. I'm not sure if that is what you are doing, but the loader frame is simply not designed for the diagonal stress that an angled snow blade causes. There is a reason why most manufacturers don't offer a front snowblade through them that utilize the loader frame. If you are talking about a stand alone front blade then that is better. Of course a guy can move a lot of snow with a front bucket.
Anyway, I'm getting off the subject. Both are great machines, but for the same money it is no option. I'm not sure how much less the 3010 would have to be make it worth someone's while, maybe $1000 or so. Of course if they are gone, they are gone so I'm not sure you have much of a choice by the sounds of it unless you want used or another dealer has one. ....
